I am coming to the U.S from abroad to baylor university in texas. I am a U.S citizen who has been living abroad for quite a while. I want to transfer to UT austin next year and I was wondering what the residency for tuition purposes rules were in my case. I am a U.S citizen who is currently not a resident of any state in the U.S. so when I come to the states will I automatically be considered a resident because of me having no previous ties to any other state or will I still have to spend the 12 month period prior to enrollment in texas? any help would be appreciated.
