Hello

I was wondering what everyone thought about all the TCM films made thus far?

I think the original is a pretty good film and still effective after all these years....the recent remake of it I went to see but I really didnt enjoy it, thought it was very weak.

I love the one with Dennis Hopper, Matthew Mohonnhay (sorry for crap spelling lol) and Renee Zellwegger! I thought it was really really gross and MH played a blinder. As for the follow-ups to the original i thought they were all crap!

The original TCM is awesome, and still effective in shocking you over thirty years after it's release - it's also my favourite horror film. The remake was fine for the first ten minutes but sadly decenRAB into a typical Hollywood slash fest with every horror cliche thrown in and I thought it was very poor.

I have yet to watch the sequels but have them on DVD. I heard a rumour a few years ago that Renee Zellwegger wanted to buy the rights to the TCM sequel she appeared in and withdraw it as she was not happy about the film. Is there any truth to this?

Ive never heard that but could be correct? I thought she was really good in it. I found it quite gruesome and horrible even though its a good film so maybe she didnt want her fans to see her in a film such as this who knows?

The original TCM is possibly the best horror film ever made. Of all the remakes, I think the next best one is probably the Hollywood remake of a couple of years ago. Better than I thought it would be, thanks mainly to R Lee Ermey's sherriff being the main bad guy rather than Leathreface.

I've never watched any remakes and I don't think I ever will.
The original scared the pants off me!
There is something distinctly creepy about horror films that date 25yrs and more.
It's the graininess of the film and the clothes, cars and haircuts that give them an almost dirty feel.

That probably doesn't make any sense to anybody apart from me. :o :D

It makes perfect sence to me ,, but if you never watched any remakes ! does that mean you never seen the Kurt Russel version of "the Thing "?? your missing out mate , thats a great movie .. also the remake of "two thousand maniacs looks good"

as for TCM the 1st one was amazing and the remake was good too , but the others where absolute tripe

Charlie, it makes perfect sense. These are the reasons why the first TCM still scares the pants off me, even now! I remember when I first watched it, it left me feeling horrible for days! What a wuss eh? LOL :D

Having not seen the original TCM when I watched the remake I can honestly say the remake was the better one. I watched the original recently and it is not remotely scary in the slightest. A huge disapointment!
