Tethering Pearl to Fujitsu Lifebook with T-Mobile

I've been trying to tether my Pearl to my Fujitsu P1510D Lifebook so that I can use it as a modem with T-Mobile. Have tried all of the suggested steps posted elsewhere on this forum but to no avail. Can anyone post a clear and concise step-by-step procedure to walk me through this? One possible "problem" is that I have two modems listed in my Device Manager, and neither is called a "Standard Modem" -- one is "Bluetooth Modem" and the other is "Agere Systems AC'97 Modem" (the latter was pre-installed). Cheers and thanks in advance to anyone who can help. (P.S. I had no problem tethering my 7105 to a Toshiba notebook previously, so don't know what the problem is now.)

Are you trying to tether thru Bluetooth or with the usb cable?

I've only done it with usb cable so can't help if you're trying to do it with Bluetooth but have read on here that others have been able to.

Am happy to use the usb cable for now, though would eventually like to be able to do it using Bluetooth as well. Can't get either to work at the moment...

Click Start, Settings, Control Panel then Phone & Modem Options.
Click on the Modems tab, select the Standard Modem then click Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab and enter the following string under Extra Initialization Commands:
+cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com"
Click Start, Settings, Control Panel and then click Network Connections.
Click Create a new connection and then click Next.
Select Connect to Internet.
Select Set up my connection manually.
Select Connect using a dial-up modem.
Select the modem you created above and then click Next.
Enter T-Mobile as the ISP Name.
Enter *99# as the Phone number and then click Next.
Keep User name and Password blank. Clear all the other check boxes.
To create the connection, click Finish.

Open Desktop Manager, connect the Pearl. Wait until it says "Connected."

Then on the Connect screen click Dial

After jacking around with trying to get it to work for hours, I re-read zaitsev's post and it worked. I think there was an error in the modem string of some of the other posts and I was just copying and pasting.

Thanks, zaitsev!!

It does not appear to be required for tethering, but my IT support group recommends disabling the Hardware flow control (enabled by default)

under the modem properties> 'Configure' button on the first screen > uncheck all boxes
