yeah i test rode a horse today...she was extremely green, but thats no problem to me...anyway after about 5 minutes of walking and a bit of trotting she was actually dripping with sweat!...

she is a recue horse an gets extremely panicky when you get on her...you can tack her stroke her bath her pick up her feet etc etc and she is so calm she looks like she could fall asleep lol...but as soon as you start moving on her back she just panicks and doesnt know what to do...she just thinks you want her to run and she goes for it...thats why i tried keeping her at a walk...but a few times she managed to trot...but the sweat must be from panicking surely? she's 9 and i dont know her past or why she's like this...and she's a tad over weight...but not much...she's a thoroughbred cross....what could it be?

THANKS

She could have been an ex-racehorse. Check if she has trouble turning on way. If you can get her trust, she should be fine. She just needs a strong upper hand. :) Abused horses can sometimes have a very difficult time trusting people. The scars may be emotional, so if you arnt ENTIRELY sure you can take her on, you should keep looking. Don't buy a horse with ur emotions, but a horse with your brain!!
