...version's hype to fade? bob dylan or the latest idol winner? the hype for both at their peaks was sky high, but who is quickly forgotten?
only the best can play test cricket because it's an epic battle worthy of watching every ball(if you have the time)...... the other versions are a bit like the x-games: fun to watch for a while, but get predictable after a few watches.
test cricket never stops surprising.... triple centuries, bunnies holding on to give their country a draw, ballsy declarations, etc... but the other versions only serve up a score from 100 to 350(depending on the version), with everyone's eyes glued to the run rate like zombies....
i love big hits and the world cup as much as anyone, but there's no substitute for 5 days of ups and downs of quality test cricket!
