Tesco DVD Rental - Never ever get my top choices. Why?

I signed up to Tesco DVD rental a while back, i think before lovefilm took over, to use the 1 month free rental voucher i had been given.

Every brand new dvd i selected at the time was posted out one after the other and always top choices first with maybe the occassional second choice being sent as well. So was very happy with the service.

When the months trial was up i decided not to use the service for a while as there wasnt that many movies i had not seen.

I recently (3months ago) re-opened my account and have very rarely recieved any of the NEW RELEASES that are my top choices, i always seem to get the dvRAB i have used to fill my list with.

Could anyone shed any light on why i do not get any of the new releases? Some of the movies that are my top choices have been out for months and still not been sent.

All DVD rental firms give priority to new customers, at any one time there is hundreRAB if not thousanRAB of people doing a free trial and if they didn't get their top choices they wouldn't sign up.

It's not right, but i can see why they do it.

My husband used to be with lovefilm and he never received any new releases, instead ended up with films a year old. When we complained they said they would try and sort it but never did so he cancelled their payments, they then had the cheek to want more money

Same thing has happened with me. Any popular film that's less than 18 months old seems to take an age, though they do come eventually (Silent Hill took six weeks, and I'm still waiting for Fearless which has been a top choice for months!) I'm tempted to cancel but they're so handy for obscure/old/hard to get films that I'd never be able to pick up at the local video shop.

They're all the same, to be fair (Blockbusters, Tescos, Amazon) - as a new customer you get all the top choices and new releases you want, once you've been there a few months the service reverts back to randomly sending out the 'filler' titles you've added. Is Netflix in the UK yet? They're meant to be good and I think were the pioneers of DVD rental by post.
