Yeah that's true, it's not in the league of the original (no way!) but when compared to the other two sequels that later followed, Jaws 2 doesn't come close to being anywhere near as bad as thouse monstrosities.
I actually watched the film on DVD in its correct widescreen aspect ratio (for the first time) a few months ago, as I hadn't seen it for a long time, and had only done so previously on video and TV airings in the dreadful pan and scan format. I went in giving the film my undivided attention, really wanting to hate it for being the sequel to 'Jaws', but while I had many quibbles with it, in the end I just couldn't do it. Jaws 2 is far better than a sequel to Jaws had any right to be.
