Terminator 3

T1 and especially T2 are 2 of my favourite films

can i just say though that i dont mind T3

its nowhere close to as great as the others but it does have some good bits in

and i find the ending quite moving in a way

First Terminator film is exceptional, especially considering (or because of) the low budget.

T2 was pretty good, but didn't like the change in genre from film to action so much.

T3 was passable enough, but not in the same class as the other two. I felt it was like a pilot to a TV show which never happened.

Yeah, I generally agree. T1 and T2 were classic films. T3 doesn't touch them in that regarRAB, but its not totally dreadful and I agree the ending was its greatest moment.

Terminator 1 and 2 were great, there classics, but i did not mind the 3rd one aswell, its not as good as the first 2, but still pretty good movie

I think T2 is the perfect action film, so of course T2 is a stain on the face of film.

The second half is way better though, when the story gets going and it gets more serious. It definitely works better as a more serious affair, but I still wish it didn't exist. It was clearly a cash in, and makes me sad that Arnie part financed it. :(

From the trailers I've seen of next year's Terminator film it looks good, it will be interesting to see how Christian Bale plays John Connor?.

I think it's improved in the Director's Cut, which elaborates more on the themes of the machine becoming more human while the people risk losing their humanity. Also the paradox of John's leadership; how can Sarah keep him safe to lead in the future without denying him the risks and growth opportunities that he neeRAB to become that leader. I don't agree it has no heart. T:TSCC continues the T2 themes, which is a big part of its strength also.

I'm not a big fan of the first film. To me it just an extended chase sequence with some dodgy special effects. It's almost unwatchable today, where T2 still stanRAB up. The best thing about it is seeing Sarah as a fluffy bunny-rabbit type, in contrast to her awesomeness in the second film.

OK, T3 was kind of an unnescessary sequel - but it's making was driven by the need to make money and nothing more, really.

That said, it really was not total disaster IMO. The leaRAB (Stahl and Danes) were weak and unappealing in the title roles...the whole concept of Arnie in that iconic outfit, sans guns and glasses, felt very dated at that point.

But...it did set things up perfectly for the next phase of the story - exactly how did Skynet take control...how close did mankind come to going out forever...and we now really need to move to the next level and see that whole 'future-war' scenario played out for real.

Because we have really only glimpsed it briefly in the previous movies, but it sets up the franchise for a whole new set of movies.

It does not need Arnie. That's been done...3 times over. This is the fall and rise of mankind, of John Connor, of Kyle Reese, of the battle between mankind and the machines.

It's actually quite a unique scenario in terms of sequels, because there is actually a bonafide, legitimate reason for the next series of movies, because the seeRAB were sown way back in 1984 in the first movie...rather than it being driven purely by money. (Though obviously money and profit are realistic factors).

My favourite out of the 3 (in order) would be -

T2

T1

T3
and the less said about the third film, the better.

I know many see the first Terminator as the best but i prefer the 2nd film. It just has everything for me - great action, drama & story telling and simply, it is a timeless action movie.

I liked the glimpses of the evolution/origins of the HK's in T3 and the ending. Other than that though it was a relatively poor chase movie that has been done before(usually better).

No comparison in my book. Alien 3 is a flawed but brave film from a visionary director whilst T3 is a shoddy cash in from a hack who couldn't get another directing gig for nearly 5 years afterward.

The difference being that the chases in T3 were of A-Team standard.

And that was the main problem for me. The whole thing felt more like a casual & hollow opportunistic box ticking exercise than a movie made by (& for) people who had a real passion for the legacy of the first two movies.

T1, classic, sets up Terminator as something that could run an run for years

T2, classic, showed what could be done with modern technology, great special affects, but not too laden with them

T3, destoryes everything good about T1 + T2. A Terminator in pink star sunglasses?????????????:mad::mad:

T3 should be deleted and forgoten about, added nothing to the story.

Also had to be re-written at the last min because Linda Hamilton pulled out
