The Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines DVD comes out on Friday. I have preordered it as I have the first two and I want to complete my collection (I also think it is a great film), will you be out to buy it on Friday, or will you give this one a miss?

The most dissapointing of all the Terminator films. As a stand alone fim its good enough but cant compete with 1 & 2. I will probably buy it anyway

I already have the Region 1 import. It's an alright film, but I purchased it more as something to complete the collection than to watch again and again. The Dolby 5.1 is v. good on the DVD, but the extras are a pretty weak bunch.

I already have the fully spec'd 2 disc region 3 version which (although I haven't checked yet) I think has the same features as the region 2 release. DD 5.1 & DTS soundtracks.

The DVD is excellent, it has many special features and one hilarious deleted scene which shows why the Terminator came to look like it did. The director was right to pull the plug on it though, it would probably have ruined the whole film.

I'd wait as the director has quite openly stated in interviews that there will be more versions of the DVD available next year but they just don't have the time to put it altogether before Christmas. Even the so-called "Ultimate" edition of T2 was superceded by another one ("Extreme" edition) in the US this year with yet more stuff on it so chance are fairly high that this is not the last T3 DVD we will see.

I got the DVD on Friday. I hadnt seen it up to last night, and yes, the film lacks the Cameron touch that made the first two films so great. You have to think if they got Cameron and Hamilton in on the film, it would have been better.. There has to be a T4, but I have to say that it was a refreshing end to the film.

The DVD is still worth getting in my view.

I've heard of this scene. Judging from what you've written - you seem to think it might ruin the 'mood' of the film and make it less serious?

Well I already thought T3 was supposed to be a (admittedly brilliant) parody of the Terminator movies. For example 'Talk to the hand'.

I laughed my way through the entire film - until the final ten minutes or so - which seemed to have come out of a far more serious movie.

T3 was the most enjoyable blockbuster this summer (and a great way for Arnie to finish his movie career - probably) but I don't think anyone could really take it seriously as part of the Terminator canon. Only James Cameron can add to that.
