Temperature.

OK, I just got back from a ride. The temp here in CT is between 55-59 degrees depending on how far inland one travels. My bike never ran smoother. I mean just as smooth as you can imagine. The engine temp never went above 185. I really had it figured for the other way around. Cold=Rough Hot=smooth? What gives??

I would think that it indicates a slightly rich A/F ratio. Colder denser air requires more fuel. Supposedly there's a temp sensor in there which varies the mix according to temp but I don't think they're very reliable. Mine runs smooth when cold and as the engine heats up it starts to run rough. DNA says that's the cold start circut which drops out above some temp. Give me two carbs please.

Yep - the colder the air - (more dense) more oxygen, better burn. That's what i am led to believe.

Any one remember a 2 stoke MX'er when cold. Pulls harder than a 16 year old when cold but loses that edge when hot. Makes sense to me.

I gotta tell you guy's.....This forum is hands down the BEST forum I have ever frequented!! (Except for my spelling of course). I mean there are more guy's on this thing that actually seem to know what they are talking about and will also BUST your huevos BIGTIME!!!

Thanks guy's, as always, your the best. I'm going out to figure out how to refridgerate my engine. Any one know who makes the longest extension cord in the world?
