Teen experiencing pain after using a tampon?

I am 14 years old, and I have used tampons before. I am a virgin, and I use the smallest absorbency tampon. Well, I used the last one today, we had nothing else, not even pads because our sink leaked the night before and soaked them. Anyway, I had to use my mothers tampons. She used the "Super" absorbency. It hurt putting it in, I had it in for a good 30min to an hour because it felt so uncomfortable. I took it out, and it hurt like hell too. Well, since then, when I use the bathroom, it hurts to...urinate. Does anyone know why? How long will this last? Thank you in advanced.

Sounds like your hymen is largely intact and you mother's tampons are designed for broken hymen and thus are larger.

Putting a tampon that is too big in can stretch or tear the hymen and feel uncomfortable.

It's normal and I suggest going back to your regular tampons as soon as possible.

that happened when i was 11 but when i was 12 i could wear a super absorbancy without it hurting to put it in or take it out, and i'm not expecting my period for a year (i was testing to see if it hurt, and kept it in for 30 sec.)
