the most important tectonic environment for the formation of explosive volcanoes and the occurence of earthquakes is:

a). subduction zones
b). divergent plate boundaries
c). transform plate boundaries
d). hotspots in the ocean basins (e.g. Haraii)
e). hot spots in continental areas (e.g. Deccan Traps in India)

I was thinking A - subduction zones..... is this correct? i'm just studying for an upcoming test and looking at some of the past exam papers :)
