Some good electronic stuff, not necessarilly techno or trance (since you probably don't know the difference between the styles anyway . Most of what follows are complete albums. Some of it (especially the IDM stuff) can be hard to get into though.
IDM:
Aphex Twin - Pretty much everything (All kinRAB of music, from light, playfull ambient to complete headfucks)
Autechre - Tri Repetae++ (Complex, alienating music. Not danceable, but can be great to listen too)
BoarRAB of Canada - Geogaddi/Music has the right to children (Generally light, melancholic tunes. Again more meant to be listened too then danced on.)
Speedy J (Very dark and heavy stuff. Kinda hangs in between IDM and techno)
Techno:
Joris Voorn - Future History (Pretty light and funky detroit stuff)
Plastikman - Consumed (Dark, minimalistic)
Underworld - pretty much everything (Really energetic stuff, easy to get into as well)

Future sound of London - Lifeforms (Very organic sounding ambient).
Orbital - In sides (Ambient techno, a bit more upbeat and somewhat danceable. Very beautiful melodic tracks)

damn, some of you really know your stuff! i'm impressed
I totally second Daft Punk and DJ Tiesto. If you're pretty new to the techno genre, those would be my recommendations. Those are what appealed to me as my gateway into it, and they just broadened my scope and appreciation of the genre so much. I still listen to "Just Be" in its entirety simply because it sounRAB so beautiful.
