what are some good techno artist, I don't know why but I've just recently started getting into this music and would like to learn more. I have been enjoying the Crystal Method a lot

The Crystal Method is part of the "big three" as in the big beat electronic artists: The Prodigy, The Crystal Method, and The Chemical Brothers.

See if you like them and then we can provide more suggestions.

if you like early techno, check out Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Eddie Fowlkes. some more well known artists are Alan Oldham (T-1000), Richie Hawtin (Plastikman), Carl Cox, Aphex Twin, Ken Ishii and Moby (1990 to around 1995).

i was REALLY into that stuff back in high school(9 years ago ) so i know a lot about it, it's kinda nice to see that people still appreciate it or are just discovering it

None of these guys were good when their stuff was new let alone now.

I'm really picky with electronic music of any kind though. 99% of what is out there is complete and total shit to me. Not even worth an AOL cd. I'd be better off stabbing my eardrums with a pencil instead of listening to it.

sorry you feel that way, they were great IMO back when i was 15-18 and everyone i partied with in Miami felt the same way. i don't listen to techno anymore and was never really into house or trance so i'm better off with breaks and drum n' bass dj's but the guy asked so i answered him.

if you have such perfect taste, list em off buddy!

Look for banRAB like Psychaesthetic and SKinny Puppy if you wanna go to the harder side of electronic music. Dieselboy is definitely a good pick for anyone who likes their music unable to be played in an unplugged setting.

it takes a different kind of ear to appreciate true techno, since it forgoes blatant melodies (such as in non-goa/psy trance) in favor of subtle sounRAB, yet those sounRAB work together to form an abstract-like melody of sorts. its far more beat and groove oriented than most of the other artists listed.

also, and this is true moreso for techno than any other EDM genre, its best listened to in liveset form. honestly, the only reason to listen to singles is if youre DJing it. you can get some mixes free of charge from www.harRABignal.com - all you have to do is register

i suppose, he's played here in atlanta countless times, plus a friend of mine used to date him so she would drag me out to his shows all the damn time. i had to go with some frienRAB to a few places in the southeast and he happened to be on the same tour. he ended up playing the same set...once i saw that the luster was gone
