ok i have searched and tried to use my q as a modem for my laptop but no succuess i have used the my#@mycricket.com password cricket set the proxy to wap.cricket.com port 8080 it says it is connected at 280kbs\s but when i try to access the internet keeps coming back with no connection found retry any help will be appreciated

Use PdaNet it works. I have used it on my old Q , HTC Mogul , HTC Touch and now on my Diamond. I use it on my ASUS EeePC 1000H and it connects everytime.

You may need to edit some settings in the phone to enable tethering.

I've tethered an Alltel Q on Alltel without using PDANet. This was after I used RSD General to write the tether NAI string into the Q. I believe the field is blank by default. Anyways, it's better than paying for PDANet if you know how to use RSD. I have also used PDANet, but it's only a 3 day trial. Alternately, you can use it past the 3 day trial if you're willing to master reset your Q every 3 days.

With Cricket and they use a Proxy. You have to add the proxy setting in your web browser.

i have tried to change the proxy in my internet connections and still did not work what do i need to write to the nai i dialed a code do not remearaber what it eas but it brought up a option to connect only the modum is that what you are talking about
