I started working on the place command and watched a few instruction vids on youtube. My question is this: do I need to start with a mat or towel or some such? Further is "place" defined by an object, e.g. mat or towel, or can it simply (or eventually) be defined as a spot on the floor, for example beside the couch. My only concern with starting with mat or towel, is how difficult it is use the command when the mat or towel is taken away. In other words does the association become so strong between the command and the mat or towel, that I'll need to break that association if I simply want to use place as a spot beside the couch, or in kitchen corner, etc.
