My history teacher liked Prog (Including really obscure Krautrock, I mean he was really, really knowledgeable, he wasn't just into Can/Kraftwerk/Faust etc.). But he got fired.
I had a history teacher who was obsessed with the Pixies and had them as his ringtone. And I had a chemistry teacher who would always play the most generic music from his ipod while we did labs. He literally only played RHCP, Pearl Jam, and Weezer.
Most of my professors and lectures are baby boomers, which means they were part of the whole 60's generation. So mostly psych and classic rock from the 60's, I guess.
I have a lecturer who's into Pink Floyd. He was telling us that he saved up all his money to buy Dark Side Of The Moon on vinyl when it first came out.
I also had a science teacher in school who tried to get me into Radiohead. He was also huge into classical and jazz music and introduced me to a lot of cool stuff.
My GCSE history teacher was into the Manic Street Preachers, New Order, XTC, 10cc - all sorts of stuff I'd be getting into once I got out of my metalhead phase. He was cool I guess.
My Art teacher - Bob Dylan, Joy Division
My Science Teacher - Weezer
The History teacher I didn't get but happen to remeraber what music he liked - The Ramones
My music teacher was into Iron Maiden etc when i was 15. she was female and only 27 I bumped into her a couple of years ago even though I had moved town 18 years ago. She now lives in the same town and is deputy head at a senior school here. Small world.
Before the Nashville metro school board decided that they cared more about how we dress than what we learn, my priciple used to come to school wearing Beatles t-shirts and jeans.
