Teachers: Do you gossip in the teacher's lounge?

Or wherever?

One of my teachers found out something about me that I rather he didn't know, and now all my teachers are acting different around me.

Do you gossip about students lives and how they act in class, etc?

Teachers gossip in an effort to help other teachers cope with students' problems. It's like the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child."

If you told one of your parents about a problem, wouldn't you expect him/her to tell your other parent?

i'm obviously not a teacher, but from being a TA i can safely say yes. some of it is legit stuff all teachers need to have a heads up about, but some is simply gossip.i wouldn't say they gossip about kids lives since its private, unless its a situation teachers should know about and have a heads up for. i would say for sure they gossip about how they act in class though. just the other day a teacher came in to talk about this "awful" kid in her class who pulls hair, harasses the girls, is completely defiant, etc.

not about the students but definitely about each other! Sharing information about a student is usually done one on one usually with a current teacher and a former teacher to get ideas as to how to handle a problem or support a student with special needs.
