TDA Hospital Horrors Talkback [4/12]

I wonder if the episode title will actually stay in place, unlike the most recent episodes...

Anything can happen in this episode, that's all I can say.

Noone gets eliminated this week, this episode focuses on LeShawna, more signs of Izzy liking Owen are shown and the Gaffers win. Next week appears to be a Horror theme.

Another awsome episode of TDA which focused more on the castmates than last week.
  • There was quite a bit of Owen x Izzy love on both sides in this episode and Leshawna and Harold seem to be getting closer which induced quite a few 'aww' moments for me.
  • Did anyone else notice that Leshawna's cousin was basically her old character design?
  • DJ's allience with Chef and Leshawna's fake sob fest may cause some friction between their teammates in incoming episodes.
  • I can't wait for the horror episode! Last seasons was awsome (one of my favorite epiosdes), so here's hoping this one will be statisfying as well.

I said this a few posts earlier:

Well, I was wrong, just went to the Teletoon website, it's named "One Flu Over The Cookoo's Nest" now.

Come on, producers, make your minds!

I finally saw it.

Not as good as last week but it was alright. No one being eliminated made it feel like a filler episode (which it no doubt was).

Next week looks interesting, though. The last horror themed episode ("Hook, Line, and Screamer") is one of my favorites in the series so hopefully this one will be really good as well.

Ok, here are my thoughts on this ep:

1. It was hilarious when they were all locked in that movie set and Izzy tried to break down the door!:p

2. At least, that pizza they had was edible, made by DJ. He & Chef have something going on.

3. Owen sure loved seeing Izzy devour that pizza like a mad dog!:D I really loved the way Izzy expressed her love for Owen in the confessional trailer.:anime:

4. I kinda liked how Leshawna wanted to form an alliance with Duncan & Harold to get rid of Heather, althoughthey both thought she was kidding.:p

5. The reward challenge sure was brutal where they had to be dunked into a tank to retrieve cadaver parts while avoiding the electric eels!:ack:

6. It was so not pretty to see almost all of them somehow get sick! :ack: It WAS funny to see Owen become a human pinball while trying to get out of that plastic bubble!:p

7. I was surprised that the disease was caused by that pizza which was laced with an itching powder/laxative, as well as lack of sleep!I'm very glad Leshawna didn't eat any.

8. I loved how Leshawna faked her crying so her team would give her the reward: a day at the spa with her mom!:D

Pretty good ep! Hope the next ep will be just as good.

Watched it, not as good as last week...

... But a good enough filler.

"Reward Challenge" huh? I like that, we can see an episode with challenge without fear of any castmate getting voted off. It feels weird to watch this after Gwen got voted off. She was pretty much the main character and it feels different without her. But with her gone, some of the other characters will take stage, like Leshawna. This was pretty much her episode, she was able to get the Gaffers have the win. She ended up getting the prize through by staging reality show emotional moment. She was trying to form an alliance with Harold & Duncan.

Speaking of, more signs of Leshawna/Harold and Owen/Izzy is at its strongest.

It was hilarious when ever a castmate got electrocuted. The scene when all but Duncan & Leshawna had the "symptoms" was the funniest. Izzy speaking tongue was cute. :anime:

Next Time: Apparently a horror themed episode, the one I watched had no trailer.

And I saw it, and you know what that means for me.

Last time: The contestants were in a prison-themed challenge, unfortunatly, because of Gwen's deal with the Grips, she caused her team to lose and vote her off, but at least she seemed happy. Did I forget anything else? Oh yeah, Izzy's back! :D

IT'S SHOWTIME!

Izzy remembers even the stuff we really don't need to know about.

In the last episode, it's locked in, now locked out. Not really original.

Ah, the charging at doors cliche. ;)

IT'S THE COPS, CHEESE IT! No wait, it's an ambulance. :p

300 diseases? THIS IS MADNESS! :p

That actually makes my time to study better in comparison. :p

Wait, pizza? I smell something...something delicious! :)

Man, Justin treats Beth like a pet.

"Hey! You know what my brothers and me did once? We had a no hands pizza off! (laughs) You should've been there!"
Meh, eating a pizza with out hands doesn't sound fun.

"Let's pretend I was here!"(jumps off her chair, gets on her hands and knees, and begans tearing into one of the pizzas, no hands, like a rabid dog tearing up a steak)
Okay, it is fun! You show that pizza who's boss! :D

"I am so glad to be back!"
Yeah, we know, keep reminding me! :) :anime: :D

"And Owen is just the sweetest thing ever! If he were a candy bar, he'd taste just like caramel covered marshmallows."
They both like to compare each other to food. It's just cute! :anime:

So...how does Leshawna eat pizza if she's lactose intolerant?

"I was here all this time!"
Crawling under the table just like Solid Snake. :p

Duncan has the LOLZ attack.

Lindsay's head is officially a magnet. Poor her.

Reward challenge? Yay, filler!

Why is this challenge so familiar? Isn't there a game show that has this same format?

"Or my name isn't Harold Norbert Cheever Doris McGrady V!"

Okay, that just caught me off-guard. WOW. Izzy, quick, break me out of this WTF-ness!

"Ah! It's so exciting I can't take it!" (bites Owen on his left arm)
Phew, thanks! :)

"Ew! What's this icky sore?(feels Owen's forehead) And you're burning up! Just like my passionate soul!"
Izzy seems to be a romantic.

We have a twist? Oh, okay then.

WHERE DO THOSE QUARANTINE BUBBLES COME FROM?! :ack:

Okay...so apperantly the pizza made them sick, of course.

Beth being sweaty will definalty get on some people's thoughts, somehow.

Izzy has Excel Excel syndrome.

Escaping through the vent is sorta cliche, too.

Wait, now Duncan gets sick?

That bathroom's been busy! :ack:

Uh...what Izzy said.

Wait, I'm confused. They're fine all of a sudden?

Gaffers win? D'oh! They got lucky because it was a filler!

Even Heather? Heh?

Leshawna Cryin'. (get that reference?)

Hey, she meets her past self!

Oh wait, her crying was fake, nevermind.

And on the preview for the next episode...

Yet another reason why sequals are cooler than re-makes most of the time.

It looks like they're back at Wawanakwa again, figures.

Hook, Line & Screamer II: Electric Booga--whoops, I mean, The Return Of The Scary Villain With A Really Long Name!

I guess the others (Duncan, Harold, Heather, DJ) might not react very well once they'll learned then Leshawna faked her crying. Could be possible then she might be the next to use the limo of losers unless DJ got scared again like the last time in the horror movie theme?

Finally saw it. No elimination this week, I loved seeing Owen go crazy being in that giant ball. And who doesn't love more Heather karma, when she got mailed in that lava pool. And I also loved Izzy's reaction to the ambulance, thinking it is the cops and hiding.

Lashawna trying to form an alliance with Duncan and Harold, good luck with that. Pretty smooth getting herself the reward and break from the drama.

But really do you really need an alliance to get rid of Heather. No one likes her, last week her two main enemies Gwen and Lashawna didn't vote for her to be eliminated and she still came in second to elimination.

Out of curiosity where have you guys gotten these pre-episode titles? Also
I think the next episode will be DJ's time to shine. Either he'll
a) Get scared like the last horror episode and get kicked off. (which would suck since he's one of my favorite characters :( ) or
b) Man up and become a huge contributer to the Gaffers.
Either way the next episode looks great

You know, not many people will agree with me here, but I want Harold to shine in an upcoming episode. Seeing him get bullied by Duncan is just torture. Sure he got Courtney eliminated in season one, but that was Duncan's fault to begin with. If he hadn't bullied Harold in season one, Courtney would've still been in the game in season 1.

I agree with you there dude, infact this whole season is pretty much extra character development for the castmates. My guess is that the final 4 of the previous season wont be there this season, making it a whole new ball game.

I'd say all of the competing castmates are going to get some more development one way or another (even Brigette and Geoff in the TDA Aftermath episodes). Some characters have been more fleshed out than others (Owen, Duncan). I'd say DJ, Justin, Beth, and
Courtny
.
Chris and Chef are also a given since they're in every episode any way.

She wasn't trying to get rid of Heather, she said she needed an alliance to "keep her in check". Heather is valuable to the team due to her nasty gamesmanship, so they need her, but they can't let her run loose with it or she might screw them over like she did in TDI.

In any case, she's definately not that big a threat this time round. Seems Justin has the chief contestant villain status down (especially seeing as Lindsay and Beth are now his minions instead of Heather's...kind of a passing of the torch, eh?)

Finally saw this one...

This week, a medical crisis! As LeShawna notes this one's a filler episode pretty much---though in her case, the fact she got screwed out of that trailer in TDI is probably what made her dismissive of even bothering to try this time (least until the very end ;-) ).

Movie reference (yeah, new category):
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", the mid-70s mental hospital film that was a big hit for Jack Nicholson.

Other than this, I can't think of any specific medical disease related films this one parodies or refers to. I suppose maybe a few 90s films like "Outbreak" (sp?) or such?

Comments:
- Harold's full name... yikes.

- LeShawna went all out in this one; I figured her crying at the end was fake, and nice to be proven right. Nice to see her try to get an alliance started, though wonder if this week's stunt will cost her in the long run...

- Fun with psychosomatic responses...

Old-but-amusing cartoon references:
A *second* week in a row of the "let's ram the door" gag. :-)

More electric eel gags, which dates back to several Looney Tunes shorts, plus the Flintstones (in gags where electricity was actually required for powering anything in their world---usually x-ray machines or such)...

Canadianisms:
None far as I can tell.

Next week:
Another horror movie---a possible sequel to TDI's horror-at-summer-camp episode?
