TDA Buns Of Steel Talkback 4/26

Already watched it, pretty good.

Another filler episode, that's seems to be the pattern. Owen has his jaw wired shut, his end is imminent. Poor Izzy, nearly losing her only actual friend and she's pretty much surrounding by idiots.

Chris does care about the castmates, or atleast their welfare or else he's ruined. Seems pretty weird the Gaffers get the win even though it should be a tie. Maybe Chris just like doesn't like the Grips, they might explain some things. Atleast they're smart enough to reject the prize considering what happened.

Next Time: No clue, no preview from what I got. Either it got chopped off or the next TDA Aftermath is earlier than I expected.

It was fun filler episode. Though what is with Beth all of a sudden going all Jan Brady on us.

I was at the edge of my seat in this one, Lindsay is back to being dumb, and Izzy is going crazy without Owen to make things bareable. Good thing he is back.

No episode preview, another Aftermath, or they just didn't put a preview. We will see next week.

This episode really defined the word "Action" in Total Drama Action so far. Chris and Chef showing no mercy on the castmates in the first half of the challenge. Poor Owen got his jaw broken as a result. Is it me or is Izzy starting to become more sane? She seemed more concerned for Owen than anyone else and she's getting fed up with the Grips' incompetence. Seriously, as much as I like some of the Killer Grips, they're really pathetic. The only time they won was when Gwen was throwing challenges for them.

The Screaming Gaffers and the Killer Grips owe Harold big time for saving all their lives from drowning. Chris does care about the contestants...only when he's in danger of losing his career. Beth is starting to get annoying with her stories about her "boyfriend". I wonder what will happen next week.

Just finished watching it.

Eh, another filler. I really wish there were less of these but I guess that's the problem when you have so many fewer characters compared to Season 1.

There really isn't anything I can say about this one. I guess the "Mission Impossible" parody was pretty cool.

One of the problems with this show, and I don't blame the writers or whoever because I realize there isn't anything that they could do to change this, is that it isn't as much fun to watch when most of your favorite characters are no longer on it.

By the way, I do hope the next "Aftermath" episode is soon because I wouldn't mind a break from this format.

Okay, I just watched this... holy crap, Owen's eyes at the end are totally creeping me out. It's just so unsettling and wrong, like fake Daffy Duck from 'Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers' level creepy.

Also, I agree towards the stuff with Izzy. I love how she's bonded with Owen and it's a little bit sad that she considers him her only friend, besides her imaginary ones. Also, all her talk the beginning about buying infomercial stuff makes me want to see a ShamWow ad with Izzy pitching it.

One other thing.

They're not really going anywhere with the "Justin as a villain" thing. By this time in Season 1, it was firmly established who the bad guy was. Justin, on the other hand, hasn't done anything interesting in awhile and I have no idea where they're going with him.

I like the show and all but I wish things would pick up a little. Things are a little too slow moving for my taste right now.

Another awsome episode even if it was 'filler'.

Beth has a 'boyfriend' which is probably a load of BS.

Izzy is the only Grip on this episode who had some sense along with Owen.

They really went all out with the disaster course, one of the most impressive and creative things on the show so far.

Chris: I got one.
Chef: Don't get cocky kid.
Me:xD

Owen's jaw breaking...ouch :crying:...there have been a LOT of painful injuries on this show, but I don't think anything can top that.

Things got worse when everyone got to the submarines, with Lindsey being her old self again

Chris is worried about the castmates safety, while Chef could care less. (He's been pretty touchy this episode) If anything I think he'll be the new 'villain' for this season since no one else is.

LeShawna is found out about her fake crying a few episodes back, which makes Duncan and Heather POed. But, Harold still trusts her. :anime: And speaking of Harold he saved the day!! Yes! Time for hugs *points to avatar*

Poor Owen, he looks terrible and sounds terrible too. I hope he gets better. :(

No preview which means it must be a new 'Aftermath', with Gwen/Trent and DJ drama in store.

And John Dorian, I saw the episode when it aired last night, so I'm assuming everyone else did too.

Edit: It turns out that there is going to be a new episode next week, with the theme being war movie. And this episode is actually called "Masters of Disasters" in case you guys were wondering.

By the way, I know there is virtually no chance of this happening but it would be nice if the next "Aftermath" episode featured the non-returning contestants (they're no longer "campers") competing in a special challenge with the winner getting to compete in Season 2.

It would at least be a plausible, non-frustrating reason why you-know-who is coming back and it would give the other characters something more interesting to do than sit on a couch.

I loved this episode, we got:

Sane(ish) Izzy.

Evil Chef. (Possibly still mad about his alliance failing and his "dispiplinary" meeting with the producers from last episode.)

Caring and selfish Chris.

Hero Harold. (He did great this episode and I don't normally like his character.)

Chef breaks Owen's jaw.

Duncan and Heather share a romantic moment...possible future conflict for the Duncan/Courtney relationship?

Izzy gets mad at her team's incompetence.

Leshawna gets busted for fake crying. Harold comes to her defense.

Finally we learn that the time between TDI and TDA was 2 DAYS, not a year.

All of that said there were two annoyances:

Beth was almost as annoying as Scrappy Doo, this episode. She seemed OOC.

Justin was as vain as ever. Worried that a rubber ducky would break his face..

Ok, here are my thoughts on this ep:

1. Aw, everybody misses DJ's fantastic cooking.:( Owen didn't seem to mind too much, though.:p

2. Running gag: Beth claims to have a boyfriend. I agreed with Izzy that it would be nice if he "really existed.":p

3. Getting through that earthquake obstacle course looked brutal!:ack: Poor Justin couldn't seem to dodge those golf balls! I felt so sorry for Owen when he got his jaw broken from Chef's huge memoir book!:crying:

4. Chris was so sadistic about telling everyone how long it'll take for Owen's jaw to heal!

5. It sure was exciting to see the teams try to escape a submarine with water filling up before they drown! The Gaffers weren't too happy when they learned Leshawna faked her crying in that last reward challenge!:ack: I thought it was very clever of Harold to make a snorkel out of straws!:D

6. I didn't blame the Gaffers for turning the disaster vacation. After all they've just been through, why wouldn't they?

7. Owen sure didn't seem to mind eating through a straw!:anime:

Pretty good ep.:) I see next time it'll be a war movie. It looks like Lindsay will be taking charge as team leader again.:D It also looks as if Izzy is gonna go psycho!:p:D I can hardly wait to see this one!:D

Saw the preview:

So Owen already recovers? That's a relief.

Yep, war movies.

Lindsay *is* Sargeant Hartman! ;)

Yay for Izzy doing crazy stuff again! :D

Oh. I wonder if he might slowly dislike the contest, because, at the end of this episode, Chris tells Owen not to sue, almost making me think Owen might no longer be the same in character, as well.

The more I think about this episode, the more I'm starting slowly, slowly, slowly dislike it, I mean, Justin, Beth and Lindsay were sorta hopeless in this one, and the fact they lose again continues to pain me.

They need to win the next one, in fact, maybe they could.

See, the Gaffers found out about LeShawna's fake crying, right? I wonder that if they'll lose focus in the next challenge, the Grips might finally triumpth by themselves.

Then again, I just noticed, they still don't get along great (the best example being Duncan and Harold), so it's sorta hopeless, right? I'm just annoyed by this fact.

Well, we might probably get a surprise

Owen might be able to pull a rabbit out of the hat or an hidden ace and Courtney might be the hidden ace in question

if the Gaffers lost the next challenge, it might be possible then LeShawna might take to lim-o-sine

That's what really irks me abot the Gaffers, even if they're the most skilled, at this point their infighting should destroy eachother. I mean, the character dynamic to should be...

  • The Killer Grips: Not really good at competition but works better as a team.
  • The Screaming Gaffers: More skilled but hate eachothers' guts.
But of course, the Grips seem to have problems there. Am I right Lindsay? Was being scared getting voted off reverted you back to your dumb blonde personality? I mean, come on.

The thing that really pisses me the most is how the Gaffers won. Even if Harold saved the day with his Chekhov's Gun(or in this case, straws), it still should've been a tie. I guess they needed a quick wrap-up. But what would've make more since would be this...

Chris: Well, even though Harold managed to save his fellow castmates and my career, it's still a tied game. So we'll just have to do a TIE-BREAKER!
The Grips & The Gaffers: NO!
(CHRIS IS SHOCKED)
Chris: You're all gonna forfeit just because of what happened earlier?
The Grips & The Gaffers: YES WE ARE!
Chris: [ANGRY] FINE! NO ONE WINS AND NO ONE GETS THE REWARD! [TAUNTING] And you'll never know what it is.

It makes more sense and it's not like the show hasn't already done an episode that ends in a tie. Maybe the Gaffers will lose next week, winning war depends on trust & teamwork and Leshawna being revealed as a fake puts the team in shambles... Or the Gaffers win with another implausible deus ex machina and Izzy gets voted off again, I really don't know. I still haven't seen the preview.
