TCM movie channel

Where has this little gem of a channel come from?

The other night I watched Blazing Saddles, tonight I'm watching Beetlejuice, two of my favourite movies right there.

It's great isn't it? They have a lot of great movies on there. They kept showing "All the Presidents Men" and I kept on missing it and then when I did manage to video it in its entirity I managed to tape over the last bit and they never showed it again. I have just got the basic free package now and It's not on there :(.

It should be free too! :D :o

If only they would broadcast in widescreen. They do show 16:9 and 2.35:1 films letterboxed/deep letterboxed, but it is a pain to have to keep changing the screen around and then changing it back when there is aRAB or the channel is changed.

Paddy :D

It does show some good films. After a while I think it gets too repetitive. They love to show Get Carter over and over again.

This is a good channel, I just wish they would make more use of TCM2. They show the same films at the same time everyday for a week - like Sky Premiere do. However they have such a varied back catalogue that they could afford to give TCM2 a proper schedule every night of the week. A two-channel service with a great mix of films, would be easily beat any of the other non-premium TV movie channel services.

We used to have 2 none premium movie channels on cable, think the other one was carlton.

Anyway as time went on we were left with Turner classic movies ie TCM.

It is repetitive I think you have hit one of the changes in sceduling hence blazing Saddles and Beetlejuice.

Six months down the line I suspect you will be checking the tv guide and saying seen it seen it oh not that again thats 12 times this year etc.

The thing is when they do show Carter I can't help myself watching the scenes where Carter meets Eric at the races through to the end of card game at Kinnears.
John Osbourne is really brilliant .
Many classic scenes as we all know in this film, but I think this section is my favourite.
