taxes and financial aid?

i was eligible to receive financial aid for the fall 2008 and spring 09 year at my college. i didn't receive any of it because on my fafsa i stated that my parents where married which they are and my dad didn't put her down on his taxes because she has no social security.The college is telling me that i can still get my financial aid but my dad needs to fix his taxes. Can he still do that?would there be any problems?I need that money.
 
you've got to speak to your dad about filing an adjustment 1040 for the yr. in question. let him speak to an accountant to figure out the details according to the FAFSA requirements.
