HOWEVER.. why not tax it on line its a lot easier all for the sake of a extra couple of quid .. it is a step by step process you don't have to hunt out your mot insurance papers etc lol as they will have all the details...and it saves you queueing at the post office..you can ride the bike still (as it is all logged on the dvla computer ) and it takes only 3 / 5 days to receive it
 
Reminder from the DVLA, MOT certificate if it is over 3 years old, money, and insurance certificate having your name and the bike specified on it.
It does say on the reminder what you need.

You will defo need the V5C log book or the part 10 new keeper supplement from the previous owner.
