Tattoo Ideas/advice?

I recently lost a loved one, who was very important to me, I am definately going to get a tattoo of their name in their memory but I want it to b unique and I want it to be perfect, has anyone else got a tattoo that is dedicated to a lost loved one and can they give me some ideas on how to make it special? this may sound like a daft question but I'd really appreciate some input.
 
What I'm doing is getting a tattoo charm bracelet around my ankle. When something happens in my life, I get a tattoo charm that reminds me of it.
