Tarantino to Direct James Bond PETITION

Incase you haven't heard, Quentin Tarantino has announced he is keen to direct Pierce Brosnan in the next Bond movie.

He says he wants to create a more character based thriller in the sort of style of From Russia With Love, rather than use more and more digital effects.

Tarantino as a director and writer is too good for the Bond franchise.
Why not give it to some plucky no hoper? The Bond franchise as movies go is pretty much dying... Thankfully. It got stale after Goldeneye. Which is a pretty spectacular fall from grace as Goldeneye was its comeback.

I'll tell you what I do like.
I like characters that are more than one dimentional.
I like characters you can empathise with.
I like a story to move me.

I don't like films which are pumped with swearing and violence for the sake of making teenagers wet their pants in excitement.
 
Well then you should like QT films very very much.

You think real world gangsters, pimps, drug pushers, gun runners etc talk like the cast of Eastenders?

and I'm sorry but if you think the characters of Jackie Brown or any his other films are one dimensional then you haven't watched it right.

QT is hailed as the greatest film maker of his generation for one very good reason, he is. For once the hype is true.
 
I'm not a big fan of Tarantino, but as a James Bond fan and critical of the Bond movies, I can see this would work.

To answer a few points:

Tarantino wouldn't sell out. He would make the movie his way, but of course he has said he will respect the franchise, so the Bond theme and regulars etc will remain and there won't be an excess of swearing and violent beyond any other Bond, otherwise he'll be scripting and directing.

This is all unlikely as it seems that Eon who make the movies and Brosnan aren't talking to each other anymore. That is why it is important to sign up if you agree and post on other sites please.

OK,i'll admit it,the Bond movies have definetly been going downhill,but to let a Slashmaster writer/director like Q.T. direct a movie that is an institution in it's own right is insane!
While not having seen a lot of QT movies myself,what I have seen only reinforces my beleif that he should stick to making action/horror movies (it is what he does best) and LEAVE THE LEGEND ALONE!
 
The Hopper/Walken scene in True Romance is one of the greatest pieces of writing ever imo. I think True Romance is a very moving film, but I guess you can argue that is down to Tony Scott as much as Tarantino, but Jackie Brown is great film as well imo.

SounRAB to me like you're stuck with this idea of what a movie should be, and when something comes along that benRAB that, you don't react very well to it. Pulp Fiction is just a great example of how there really are no limits on what you can do with a movie.
