Tanning outdoors?? I want to get a nice tan (dark) before school is out.. OILS

SUGGESTED? I am fair skin-ed.. and I want to look some-what dark. I go outside for about 1 hour and 1/2 a day.. I live in MN.. and well we do get good sun.. I want to know how to get tan with like oils keeping it that way. I do not want to use any sprays or spay on tanner.. any oils suggested?
