Ok everyone, I am needing some help because I have just finished the book Tangerine and there are some questions I need help with. Any help is appreciated as I am getting quite stressed over this project. Please give detailed answers, and I also ask that you do not leave mean/rude comments. Thanks again to everyone who helps as I have found the Y!A community helpful in some of my previous questions.
These are the questions
1) Some might say that Tangerine is about appearances – that if things look good from the outside, then everything will be okay. What do you think about that idea? Where do you see it in the book? Answers should be 2-3 paragraphs in length. Please reference 3 specific examples from the book.
For this question^
I have thought of two examples already
The first example I thought of is when Erik hits Luis on the head and he looks okay on the outside for a week, but then he dies because the hit built something inside him that eventually killed him.
The second example I thought of is when Paul's first school. But then it gets swallowed by a sinkhole which was actually under it.
I need another example like the first 2 I thought of please.
The second question is
2) Paul’s subdivision was built on a foundation of termite-infested ground, next to a field that constantly burns muck fires, near a school that is built on land that becomes a sinkhole. In what ways is the setting of the town of Tangerine a metaphor for Paul’s life? Answers should be 2-3 paragraphs in length. Please reference 3 specific examples from the book that support this notion
I do not understand this question to ANY extent, nor can I think of any examples. I am not quite sure exactly WHAt this question even means and i am rather scared because I am afraid I won't figure it out soon enough ( 2 weeks.)
I am THINKING( not sure, just a guess) that this question is referring to how Paul's life is never perfect, but he can on with it or something about the Erik Fisher Football Dream.
