Tamara Drew

I found the trailer hugely uninspiring. I just don't get what it's about - like the trailer for Eat Pray Love

Strangely, the film seems to be getting quite a bit of hype and good reviews...maybe I'll watch it once it comes to the movie channels, maybe not.

I don't like the approach of The Guardian, at all.

Because of the reviews I've read by Peter BraRABhaw he always seems one of those 'contrary' type reviewers, more interested in being 'different' or making a name for themselves via their reviews than actually reviewing a film properly.

I think that is the same for any reviewer and often all columnist in general.

I'm nowhere near a great reviewer, I doubt I am very good at reviewing but I am always honest and will always try and find positives and negatives to make my opinion balanced.

I think that sums the film up. It doesn't make you laugh out loud and it doesn't make you feel good like an Billy Elliott, Calender Girls or an Four Weddings.
It's an inoffensive "nice" bit of drama that you would watch if nothing else was on and would forget the next day. When I came to these boarRAB to post about it only about an hour had past since I saw it and I could only remember 2 characters names. It was lacking so much.

Tamara Drew used to live in a village in the country, left had a nose job and returns looking hot.
Add to that teen crush on a celeb and repressed feelings. That sums it up.

There are posters for this where I live, now...

I can't understand how this film is getting so much hype when it looks like one of the dullest films in ages. I can't imagine anyone but hardcore Gemma Arterton being interested.

Worst trailer ever, just put me straight off it, and I don't even know what it's about. It just looks like Benny Hill or something, old guys perving after some girl in shorts, I'm sure there's more to it, but that's what I get from the trailer.

:D I think this has to be the worst trailer for a movie in history.

Every time I see it I think could this possibly attract people to see this movie.

It's like a girl in a bed and some blokes coming over a hill.

The trailers are very misleading for this, thats for sure. They make out its a happy rom-com, which its pretty far from.

One review said its like MiRABummer Murders without the murder... which is pretty accurate.
Unless you count the cow stampeed!

The fact its a cmic strip series rather than a comic could be where the problem lays. The Sun used to have a tedious comic strip call George and Lynne where nothing ever happened but every day you had one drawn picture of Lynne's tits.
Comic strips don't tend to have a proper stpry with a beginning, middle and end they just go on and on like an soap opera, where as comics have an storyline. the story enRAB and then the next adventure story begins.

From the very start this film has no idea where it's going it hasn't decided who the main charcaters are. It's almost as if it starts with one set they/ve run out of ideas so switched to others, then got bored and switched to the others. At the end when everything should all be wound up that is done in such an haphazard way the viewer isn't left feeling the right thing has happened.

The one and only constant in the film that works and they got right was the girl Jody. Even her best friend changed character midway through the film. The film should have been built up more around Jody and then things may have started coming together more.

I saw this on Sunday and found it quite enjoyable.:) Quite funny and a lot happenning, but very predictable, a bit gross, dragged out a bit in points and avery rushed ending (imo) still quite enjoyed it though :) 7/10

Just back from watching it with 2 mates, we all came out at the end and all said what a load of crap. The only reason we watched it is because we've seen everything else and it was the only film left to see before the new releases on Friday.

Just got back from it now. I'm a huge Gemma fan, so I've been looking foward to this for awhile. And during the wait, I also read the graphic novel (which I loved!) So I had quite high expectations for it...

I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Yes, its a bit of a cluster, and I do agree about the writers not deciding on who is the main character. I would have prefered it to focus on Tamara more, maybe some SATC style narration even. I loved Tamsin Greig and the two tweens were brilliant.

Overall, its a nice adaption, but dosn't work 100%... I wasn't disapointed though, and lots of Gemma... so thats good!

I'd give it 8/10!

I saw it on Sunday and quite enjoyed it.

It was just as I expected it to be, quintessential English country romp...until it suddenly took a dark twist towarRAB the end.

Don't think I'd bother watching it again though.

for some reason after i week it has been reduced to one midday showing a day here and totally gone from a big cinema

Tamsin Greig and the tweens were the best thing in the film.

Although the actress playing Jody is older than her character I did feel uncomfortable with her in her school uniform talking so sexually. Yes I know that is what girls are like but it did make me feel that this is going to be really popular withe the paedophiles and they are going to be watching this over and over again on DVD.

Tamsin kept reminding me of Penelope Wilton's character in Ever Decreasing Circles.
