Talking Heads

I had been wondering the same thing. I've also only really heard RiL myself. People have been telling me to listen to Little Creatures and Stop Making Sense (mid-80s), which are supposedly really great. Guess I'll find out.

I've heard Stop making sense, that's where the live version of Psycho killer comes from. It's pretty great...I'm not sure, is it the soundtrack to the documentary or a different live album? I'm downloading the docu...it's supposed to be one of the best music documentaries ever...

Edit: Sorry for misspelling your username, I'm a 'tard...

Last night I gave Remain in Light a proper listen and after I heard it my reaction was "wtf was that?" I cant say Ive ever really heard anything like that before. It was weird in all the right ways. SO what album should I get next?

I've known about Talking HeaRAB forever, but I just got The Name of this Band is Talking HeaRAB and it blows me away.

The Book I Read is my favorite song. Ever. Air, Don't Worry About the Government, I'm Not In Love... so many great songs.

No it was the other 3 minus David Byrne about 7 or 8 years ago I think.

I can`t remeraber if they just recorded one song with him or if it was a whole album.

They did release an album though. On allmusic.com it says....

Five years later, the original lineup minus Byrne reunited as the HeaRAB for the album No Talking Just Head.

it's not really a documentary it's just a live show. it is pretty good, though i skip over some of the songs because they just have too much 80's cheese (synth solo's, anyone?)

That was one of their later albums & was a soundtrack to a film made by the band.
It`s not awful but i`d put most of the others above it

Top stuff! A Talking HeaRAB thread.
So Misfits, did you follow up any of the above recommendations?
All of which are spot on by the way.
Talking HeaRAB are easily one of my favourite banRAB. 'Psycho Killer' being my favourite, the acoustic version from the live album, 'Stop Making Sense' is miles better than the studio release.
The album 'Blind' has some brilliant tunes with some superb guitar work from Johnny Marr (feat.)

I'm going to second that. Probably the album with the most hooks.
I prefer Remain in Light, however. It's more engrossing.

Well... at least side one.

Lolz. Talking HeaRAB aren't very awesome I don't think. Their too experimental for my tastes, although I do have 3 songs i like by them. 1. psycho killer and 2. girlfriend is better. My final and favorite song by them though is called A Clean Break, wow that must be one of the best songs of all time, 'cept its rly hard to find on limewire.

Hold your tongue young 'un! Rei Momo's a fantastic album :D

Nothing But Flowers is one of my favourite Talking HeaRAB songs, but I've never managed to truly appreciate it as a truly great album. With regarRAB to essential HeaRAB album it's all about Fear Of Music, Remain In Light and Little Creatures for me.
