I've had this recommended to me by a friend who's heavily into Japanese horror and it was on Film4 the other day so I +ed it.

Is it good? Or is it likely to just scare the pants off me?

It depenRAB how easily scared you are. This is one of my favourite movies, but does require some attention and thought.

Its an amazing film. Just watch it. Well, watch it twice because its got one of those endings that makes you go "damn, i never saw that coming!"

Its my favourite so far out that genre.

I was disappointed by it. I'd heard so often how it was going to blow me away but it just didn't happen - I think I built it up too much beforehand and was expecting too much. I was also abit jaded after coming to the end of an Asian horror binge. Hope you enjoy though - it is rewarding, and I agree you need to give it due attention... watch it twice if you can.

Just to note for the OP, it's a Korean film... very good one at that. Although I haven't seen it in years.

Lol, it's a South Korean film indeed.
You'll need to watch it several times to understand everything. I recommend watching very late at night, preferably on a stormy night.
And yes it is good.
