Taking polaroid photos outdoors?

Hi, I have a Polaroid 600 camera from 1982 (looks like this: http://www.swissarmyfries.com/at-home/polaroid-amigo-620/) and I have recently purchased some of the official Polaroid 600 film, that recently stopped marketing. It expired in 2009 and was stored in good condition, so it should produce quality photos. I was just wondering, since I wanted to take outdoor snaps, on weather the photos will turn out fine (there will probably be late afternoon sun). I also wanted to know how to handle the light/darken control, which do I have it set too?
