Taking fish from one tank and putting them into another?

I have a 30 gallon tank with one tiger oscar in it. He is getting very big (10 inches) very fast. I bought and set up an 80 gallon tank and its ready for my oscar. What is the easiest way to transfer him from the 30 gallon tank to the 80. I think he's too big for a net but I'm not sure.
 
There are pond nets available...lol. Even still, it would be difficult to move him being the size that he is. Just try your best with the largest net you can get and do it quick.
 
maybe use a large clear container,
place it in tank to fill with water, and coach fish into container by using your hand or net, i would think your hand would be better, the fish may not be scared by your hand as they are with a net, then when you take container of tank cover it with your free hand or the fish net so it wont try to jump out
