Taking an old idea, and making it better

Pretty much what I'm saying is taking a plot/story that have been done before, and making it better/new.

Example:
How many time have you seen a plot when a shy-sweet guy lives in a house with 7 girls and each girl got the hots for him?

Personally, I heard this plot line...More then once. So how can you make a plot line like this, and make it new?

Me:
I'll make the Guy a perv that wants the girls, but the girls don't want him. The guy thinks love is only about sex, but he slowly learns Love means more then that.

There! I made an over-used plot into something new. (Unless theres an anime/manga like that...Damn).

Another Example:
Like if you look at Death Note. The Idea of Light becoming a god. That idea been done before: A guy that wants to be god. But how Death Note did it...It made an old idea and made it new.

In dragonball z, Get This!, instead of them fighting, they have giant robots and they are in the future, and they power up and stuff.

And we can call it gundaraballz

A group of warriors fight in the spirit realm against the forces of evil that is threatening to take over all realms of existence and bending them to their own malicious intentions.
Yu Yu Hakusho-->Shaman King -->Bleach

A teenage prodigy signs up to join a paramilitary or military operation where they uncover a hidden conspiracy to gain enormous powers while living with probably male character deals with his own problems

Fullmetal Alchemist, D.Gray-Man, Evangelion, Almost every single Gundam Series.

Yea, I been hearing that plot line a little to much. But I liked the Yu Yu Hakusho and Shaman King ones. Bleach in the other hand....

But how can you make that plot that been done many times before, and make it new?

It's not anger, just tired annoyance. The 'Dragon Ball Z with Gundams/Gundam Ball Z = G Gundam' thing is a bit of nonsense that pops up every now and again and as a G Gundam fan I'm not keen on it. I'm not going to call the show high art, but it's long since gotten annoying when folks act like it's a stupid show by default.

The same old Amnesia story....except...

He's piloting a giant robot that's powered by how much amnesia he has. The more he regains his memories, the weaker he becomes. As he gets closer to the truth, he must make a decision to know who he is and let everyone he met die, or lose memory of them but let them survive.

And missiles and death and RAWR!

Cut out the first paragraph, keep the last sentence. You've got a hit!

O.K., how about this; take Cowboy Bebop, but have an episode from the POV of one of the crooks the crew is chasing.
