Taken- Liam neeson

spot on review in empire...

Liam Neeson’s ill-judged presence should not cause you to even consider going within 30 feet of a fleapit that’s screening Taken. Here he plays an ex-spy divorc

I thought it was great, not just for the action scenes but the emotional rollercoaster Neeson's character goes through trying to save his daughter.

And believe it or not this stuff happens, well the sex trade/traffic does, not neccesarily some kick ass ex spy taking the law into his own hanRAB. lol

Yes im happy to see im not alone in loving this film, as a father of a little girl the film connected with me emotionally as well which enhanced my enjoyment.

Would you like it if Liam was in Victorian Clothing during a war of some type and hand long pauses between dialogue to give it that illusion of quality?

PJ have you been to see this film or are you just basing your comments on this review ? BTW it got to be no 2 at the UK box office for 2 weeks-couldnt have been THAT bad eh ? On your comments about Liam being embarresed by this film where did you see this ?(please post a link when you find it if it exists:rolleyes:) i have just watched Liam saying the contrary on US tv ie on The Veiw and Good Morning America .

I'm interested in reading this interview if you can link to it please or say where you read it. It's hardly a film where someone would be embarrassed having been in it...

Why is it the people who dislike this film say they watched it and disliked it because it had fighting and people dying.

One has to wonder what you expect from a film where a guy has to find and rescue his daughter...

i thought this film was brilliant. of course it has people dying and the good guy winning, it is an action film with an A list actor. i suppose you were also pissed off that The Titanic had a big boat in it and was wet!

it was such a cool film... it gave me the whole, "aww im gonna be a cool dad like that" feeling. good ol'neeson!

I watched this a couple of nights ago & I loved it! Ok it isnt an amazing piece of cinema but for entertainment value 9/10 from me! A very satisfying revenge flick where Neeson is a complete badass systematically finding & destroying the scum who takes his daughter. I loved every minute of it especially the
torture scene with the kidnapper he spoke to on the phone, shooting a mans innocent wife to scare him into helping him & the scene where he doesnt hesitate to pop the pervert shiek right between the eyes the very second he offers to negotiate. Not only all this but he gets away with it all for a happy ending which makes a change from the usual 'good guys' either sparing the villain or dying because he did a few bad things along the way. Truly refreshing
If it makes me juvenile to enjoy this film then I dont want to be mature!

I'm unsure if it does add anything or not. I checked a link to the BBFC site and the length of the Theatrical and DVD release were the same.

I would expect deleted scenes or something of that nature.

Do you have a link because in all the interview's I've read he never once mentions he was embarrassed.

He doesn't mention being embarrassed in any of these

The only embarrassing thing for him was that he had been going to France for 15 years and knew about 10 worRAB.

As far as the film goes I thought it was brilliant :D Watched it last night and really enjoyed it. Another Liam Neeson film I've loved.

I just checked and it says Extended Harder Cut - I am sure if it it's extended and harder there must be more to the fighting sequences. I thought the final arab guy was dismantled a lot quicker and it could have been longer.

From what I understand about the film, wasn't it
people from Neeson's own agency who did it, so he knew their methoRAB or intention to kidnap her?

Paddy :D

I agree. I liked how he was taking no prisoners and was merciless to the scumbags he confronted. The electrocution scene was particularly satisfying :D
