Went to see this today just as something to do on an Orange Wednesday, and thought it was GREAT.....
So unexpected, and what surprised me everyone stayed seated at the end right until the small screen dancing clips intermingled with the credits finnished. Despite the lights coming on a couple of minutes earlier.

BTW my wife was watching intently, she said she had to concentrate on the accent :rolleyes:
 
Hate to revive an old thread, but just watched this film on Film4 today. An excellant feel good film, I agree with the OPs views. For me the film was uplifting, youthful and ultimately hopeful. Just a good film should be, who knew ballroom dancing was so damn hot?
 
I watched this last year and thought it was a really good uplifting film too! I didn't expect the dancing to be that good for a teen dance film, especially the 'three to tango' dance at the end, which blew me away. There was so much chemistry and tension between them all and it was such a brilliant concept (yep, it was hot too); it's still one of the best dances I've ever seen in a film. All in all it was a really good recent dance film with tons of emotions and brilliant dancing.
