t919 to f480

just got the t919 (behold) but it is so locked down. can't download java apps or set up pop3 email. my question is do any of you guys have any answers for this. if not does anybody its a good idea to the F480 firmware to my t919
 
There is a way to turn on email, POP3 and IMAP4 support, here's how...

Press the green send button, then dail *#6984125*# to enter Administration Settings.

Choose - 4. INTERNALS, enter *#9072641*# at password prompt.

Choose - #5 Protocall Settings, inside this menu...
Choose - #6 MMS settings and choose enable email.
Hit the save button at the bottom.

Press the back button until you see Internals menu.

Choose - #6 Storage Settings, then
Choose - #7 Create Emails.

Exit out of everything by pressing call end button.

At home screen choose the Menu button, bottom right hand corner.
Choose Settings, then choose Applicaton settings, then choose Messages.

Email is now listed in this menu, choose it.

Inside the Email menu

* Sending options
* Receiving options
* Email profiles
* Email accounts
* Email setup wizard

I set up a POP3 email account entering all information required for an email account to function properly....

HOWEVER, the phone will not display the email account that you just set up.

I think you have to set up a Profile for the email to use to gain access to the network, which I have not figured out yet.

Perhaps, some other people here can figure this out the rest of this puzzle and post the results here.

These phones are the same with different names and different sides for power ports
F480 European version
T919 US version

Also as far as the EMail setup I believe that if someone with the F480 would just upload there contents of the phone with TKFileExplorer to there computer then PM me and I will give my Email address for you to send the files and I can make the Email work on the T919 I just have to see whats different on the F480 email setup then the T919 email setup.


So if anyone is willing to do this please help
 
Dont tell people to just flash there phone to untested firmware! They are two differant phones! They have differant prom configurations, differant display drivers. Just because they look similar dont mean anything!! Do your homework people!
 
Have you ever bricked your T919 by flashing to an F480 firmware? No because you don't know that it will brick the phone. I dont have a F480 and you don't have a T919 so there you go neither of us know what will happen. Yes there is a chance of bricking your phone but theres a chance you will drop it in water or you will get hit by a meteor. There is also the chance that the firmware will swap onto the behold. I have read of people with the F488 using the F480 firmware so who knows until you try it don't try to stop people from discovering because you my friend are the one assuming that it will brick because you have never tried it. In fact until someone does try it we will only be assuming that this or that will happen and there is no definate!
 
As I stated before, They are not the same freekin phone! The F480 and F488 are. I am looking at the prom configuration now, I dont have to brick mine to see it just want work! Thats the same thing as trying to flash a D600 with F480 firmware, They are not even on the same planet! You dont have to screw up your phone to figure out if it will or will not work. If it had there would be post all over the net saying " IT WORKED!"
 
ok try the same trick with d900 and d900i or e250 and e250e, u600 and u600b, d600 d600e, the phone is almost the same in appearance but then after flashing some models don't wake at all, some have constant network reaching problem.. and it's hard to get back to original one

I don't say you musn't flash yours.. do it and be hapy but don't encourage other people to try 'cause they may stuck with a nice piece of plastic instead of phone
 
You know if I had a second phone I would attemp a flash but since this is all I got I am not at this time going to attempt it. I know that it could very possibly brick the phone. I know that theres a possibilty of it not functioning correctly but still working. I know how similar these two phones are! I know how they have the exact same file setup in TKfileExplorer so I know they are very close to eachother not just in appearance but internally as well. I also know that you will continue to tell me they are nothing alike and I hope you know I am going to continue to make that decision on my own, not from the letters on a computer but from my own experiences.
 
when it comes to similarities of files in phones.. lot of samsungs has the same folder layout and it means nothing, very often foldersa re there but not implemented, like all z400 firmwares have themes folder, only one the vodafone has it implemented and can use themes, the same folders you will find in e.g z300, z400, and u700 since it's all qualcomm nevertheless they're totally uncomparable, mind also that pc studio, bitpim and tk show different folders, some of them show you files you won't see in others yet none of the three shows you full listing :/ btw if you have t919 firmware i'd like to have a look on that, 'cos I can't find it anywhere on the net
