t809 vs sony w600i

well besides the fact that the w600 is for cingular and the t809 is for tmobile......the t809 has a better camera i think , a bigger screen, and its quadband and it has a thin form factor...i think the t809 is better

well I have both phones and I have to say that they are more similar than most people think. in my opinion, the W600 would be the perfect phone, in all aspects, if Sony had just put an expansion card slot on it. how they can pass it off as a walkman/multimedia phone, but not have extra memory is completely puzzling to me. that being said, the T809 obviously has an advantage there. everything else between the two, feature-wise, is up in the air. the audio on the W600 is superb, but I think the video/camera/screen capabilities of the T809 are slightly better. they actually say the screen on the T809 is like a plasma TV screen for a phone; I don't know if I would go quite that far but it is definitely the best screen I have personally experienced. in the end, I think the T809 has the edge(no pun intended).

This is a no brainer:

Sony versus Samsung? Samsung.
Sony versus Motorola? Motorola.
Sony versus a beeper? Take the beeper.
Sony versus Tinfoil Cups? Tinfoil cups.

Any confessed geek will never purchase another Sony product for as long as they live. I used to live and breathe Sony (spending 5 figures a year on the latest "toys") but after the Rootkit fiasco, Sony is not welcome in my house. I don't buy Sony DVDs, Sony CDs and Sony anythings.

Of course, you may not be as mad as I about Sony's anti-consumer stance, but I figured I'd get the word in

Sony wanted to build a market and get as much money out of the phones as possible. The w600 is a VERY nice phone, so then...why would someone buy a w900? Ahh. The W900 while also as impressive, doesn't warrant the high value, unless you want to be able to slap in extra memory. Also, there are 2 type of people out there, people who want to get a phone because it's new, and people who get a phone for the value. Value minded people will have to suffer the wait time for the w900 to come to an acceptible value.
And as of 2K5/2K6 that's where we're at. We want convergence devices. That being said - if the w600 had an expandable slot then noone would really need to get the W900 and Sony would lose money.
