T5 Updater v.1.1

Hi,

I'm having a trouble with my Palm Tungsten T5. I installed Tungsten T5 Update v1.1 the other day and lost option to change languages between Chinese and English.

Is there anyway that you guys can help? I installed CJKOS, and I can read Chinese. But I can't write.

Another question. My Palm OS is v.4.5.2P. Could this be upgraded to Newest Palm OS with Chinese support?

I have been talking to the U.S. Palm support and only thing they did was to update their website saying not to install this updater for T5s with Chinese language.

Well, too late for me...only if they updated their website a day earlier... :(

I would really appreciate for any suggestion or solution for my trouble.

For your information, I just purchased my T5 about 4 months ago (2005.05) and still under warrenty.

Since you applied the update - there is no way to go back. Unless, Palm will send you a ROM update that is only for the Chinese version.

My suggestion at this time would be to warranty it - if possibly at a local retailer in your neck of the woods.

Without that ROM update your goofed as there is no way to go back. And since Palm didn't update their web page correctly - I'd asked for a supervisor as soon as you make contact. Supervisors will normally escalate things in special circumstances - which you have.
 
Thanks, I will try the local dealer first and the Palm support as well.

I was hopping if anyone out there have a ROM upgrade for Chinese Palm OS 5 or better...

Or if anyone knows how to make T5 to work with Chinese as it was.

With CJKOS I could type in (which takes forever to write a sentence.. :o ) Chinese, Japanese or Korean but was not able to write on the screen...
