T5 Cradle

Is Palm running some kinda of scam. Why are they just releasing the cradle for the T5. This little rinky dink cable that came with the palm already has a short in it. So now I have to replace it. At least give us some kinda of rebate on the new cradle. Just venting. This really dont make sense. E-mail me @ if someone knows where I can get a deal.

Parlay: Someone on here can certainly help you and sorry for your trouble . . . you might want to make yourself available to email or personal message through the CONTROL PANEL, where your email is more "veiled."

Plastering it on the forum "out in the open" could get you "harvested" for a lot of junk mail (happened to me!!).

Just a friendly bit of advice . . . don't take the wrong way . . . we can all still contact you via email or PM by clicking on your name, but the "weasels" won't be able to farm your email quite so badly.

Good luck with the cradle and I'm sure you'll find something - I've alsays found Belkin had something as good or better, more lightweight but dependable, and a lot cheaper.

Welcome!

Hello,

I just got a Tungsten5 for my birthday and this is my first palm I have owned. I am a new to this part of computer hardware and have learned quite a bit by just reading the message board.
I bought a cradle and international plugs and power supply at Staples for $49.99. They had pleanty of them in stock. The cradle works well. The next question I have is there any free software out for the T5 yet? Also what is the best software to use so I can play movies on the T5. I am trying Konoma to see if it works. I came across a website for Teal and they also have movie software. Any comments on what to use.
I know I will learn quite a bit on this forum as the members are quite knowledgable.

Thanks Telotech:)

There's tons of free software at www.freewarepalm.com . Most of it will work with the T5. The only problem with the T5 is the operating system is new and the screen size is larger than previous Palm's. Almost any program that's compatible with OS 5 will work with the T5 but the screen display might not be quite right if it hasn't been updated to take the bigger screen size into account.

Kinoma should work fine for movies on your T5. The T5 comes with RealPlayer which also does a credible job with movies so you might want to try that first before apying for Kinoma.

Thanks Jim for the info. I will check out that website. Over the weekend I will try to get bluetooth to work with my pc. I did look at DeansDC10's article and will also follow what I have here. Everyone have a great weekend.
