I also have a Palm T5 and a Motorola Razr. I also had a lot of problems with these two devices but now have them working well together. Here are a few thoughts.
The Razr will only 'talk' to one blue tooth device at a time. Thus, if I have my blue tooth headset activated and then try to establish contact with the internet via my Palm it will give me the message: "timeout: could be bad cable.." etc. If I turn off my bluetooth headset then my T5 will work with the Razr just fine. Could this be your problem?
Secondly, I never did get the Razr to communicate with the T5 on a 'dial-up' basis. However, once I enabled the GPRS function on my Razr and setup my T5 to use this mode, everything worked just fine. I'm not too sure where you are in the world, or what your mobile phone company offers in the way of GPRS but, perhaps this is an option for you.
