Sorry, posted this once before, but Lamb of Silence:
I had to return a T2 twice. First time, no advance return, saved $40 but found out how hard it is to manage affairs with post-its pasted to every flat surface...Howeever, I was without the unit under two weeks, and they had indicated two weeks was normal. Next time, advance returned (may have to ask for it- I was not offered it) and paid the man.
I would use this option in the future...
Downside: you 'may' get a unit that meets Palm repairs acceptability for cosmetics, it may not meet yours. Mine had a scratch and a dent, yes dent. But I would not return if for anything- mechanically & electronically flawless, as was screen & digitizer. Heck, I can live with a shopping cart dent(s) in my car....why not in my T2? Bottom line: I got a superb unit back from Palm, and I got it within three days of starting the process.
One more thing, if you advance return, follow their directions EXACTLY so that your return gets logged in properly when it is received in Texas at the repair station. They eventually sent me a notice that it had not been returned, but Palm Support (in India) took care of that immediately, during a phone call.
Overall, both experiences with Palm repair were positive.
Good luck!
