T3 help, please!?!

A while back I posted about my dead palm. I decided to go ahead and replace the battery. Now I don't think the battery was the real problem, but I've got a whole new set of issues. Now my palm does come to life when you put it in the cradle--just like after a hard reset. But when you take it out of the cradle, it dies. And when you put it back in the cradle, it's been hard reset again! This is so frustrating! Does anyone have any advice aside from sending it in to Palm?

You might want to try another cradle. It's possible that it's not charging and has shorted some contacts. Look carefully at the cradle and see if all of the contact points look "aligned". Then look at the bottom connector of the T3 and see if there is any foreign substance that might be causing two of these connections to touch.

But if you can either borrow another cradle or another cable that plugs into the bottom and check if these same conditions you described are repetitive with the "new" cable - it's off to Palm for fixing and you might just want to bury the T3. It might be more fruitful to spend the money on something new rather than repair but that's a decision only you can make.

Richard, good advise.

Just a couple of quick items:

1. I have two T/3s and I always use cables, not the cradle. So I would first get a cable that you know works.

2. I have a little device that holds AA batteries that can be used in an emergency if my power is running low and I need a charge or to use my T3. The device is a USB that needs to have a cable at the other end to plug into the T3, but I wonder if that would pick up the batter or maybe allow you to re-start it.
