T|X battery

first of all, i did a search for this subject, most of them are old... so if this is repeated, i apologize....
i'm about to get my first PDA, palm T|X.... one of the main reasons i want it for is reading e-books during my travels, i mean for like 2 or 3 hours straight... is the T|X battery is designed to take this kind of torture???

i started a small personal forum, mainly about music, games and some pointless yapping, the point is, i want to promot it here, so the question is: can i do that, and if i can, where????
 
As long as it's a personal blog and not a "competing" web site - you can probably put a hyperlink to it in your signature line. Don't be blatant about it and try to give it a huge font - KISS principle.

You might want to PM me with the site (cleaned up my mailbox) so I can have a look see before you add it to your signature and then I'd be able to advise.
 
I've not timed it, but 2 or 3 hours is far from torture when reading e-books. I would guess you could easily get closer to twice that before running out. Turn your backlight all the way down and turn off the WIFI and Bluetooth transmitters. All very easily done on the TX.
 
I surf the WEB for 1-1/2 - 2 hours at a time via WiFi with the backlight turned down, so I would guess you could easly get 3+ hours out of your TX. I have only drained my battery about 60% so far, and that was on a super busy day with lots of wireless hot syncs and WEB / email browsing.

Your mileage may very.... :-)

I just watched a 3 hour movie (very porcessor intensive, i.e. power hungry) plus did another 45 minutes of reading and it only showed that it used 50 percent of the battery.

Also, you can get a battery extender (plastic battery holder for 4 AA cells) on ebay for about $5 plus shipping. It has a short cord that will plug into your TX's power port. That will more than double your battery life if you are using NiMH rechargable AA cells. It will probably triple or quadruple your TX's ON time if you use regualar non-rechargable alkaline cells.
