T|T not reading SD or MMC card

Looking for any suggestions. My Tungsten T isn't reading either the MMC or SD cards that I recently bought. Both are 128 meg cards. When inserting the card, I get the error: "The handheld cannot recognise this card.":( Any hints, tips, tricks, magic?

The SD card is a 128 meg Impact card from Lexar.
The MMC card is a 128 meg Super Talent card.

Thanks in advance!

Just a few thoughts:

Have you installed the Tungsten T Update from PalmOne's Support web area?
Have you performed a soft reset on your T?
Can you format the cards with either the T or on a card reader connected to your computer?
Have you tried the cards in another Palm unit to see if they can be read?

My first suspicion is with your T, since you have 2 cards from 2 different sources.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've downloaded the Tungsten T update as well as hard and soft resets of the palm. I wiped everything and tried it that way too. I have a Dazzle reader and read and wrote to both cards. I don't have any other Palm units, so I haven't tried that.

That's my suspicion as well. :(

I have occasionally gotten that message after what I call a "funny reset." I won't drone on with all the technicalities, but let's just say my T3 is "tweaked," and I like it that way.

Sometimes I get that message, for instance, when CardBackup did an auto backup at 5PM WHILE I was hotsyncing, and I got a crash.

After getting the message, I removed the card and reinstalled it. All good.

It's happened perhaps 3 times in 5-6 months with a Panasonic 256MB. If just replacing it back in the PDA doesn't help, I would suspect the card before the Palm . . . and format it ON THE HANDHELD, not the PC. Use the standard "Card Info" app and try RENAMING it to "Sd128" or something different. If you then put it in a reader and you see the PALM/DCIM/AUDIO folders (AT LEAST "PALM" as DCIM and/or AUDIO are created later) then I don't think it's your handheld, especially if you've gotten the updates.

Turns out it is a problem with the Palm after all. I took it apart  and sure enough, 2 of the pins at the bottom of the SD socket are mushed to the bottom. Guess I'll be shopping for a new motherboard. Someone wasn't very careful when inserting a card.
