T-Mobile's Hot Spot @Home is Here!

I saw questions about Hotspot at Home in another thread and thought I'd start a new one with some info I found today.

If you log into www.theonlyphoneyouneed.com , click on "Show me More" and then "buy now" on the next screen, it'll ask if you're a customer of T-mobile. It then leads you to your My T-mobile account where you can log in. I checked it out earlier today and saw that the price was $9.99 per month as an add-on.

According to the site, they're also offering free service for a year and free phone if you're one of the first 100 to show up in a bathrobe at certain locations on Tues, July 3 starting at 8am. I'm wondering if these are the only places where it's actually available right now. The cities are:
New York City
Seattle
Chicago
Detroit
Dallas
Atlanta
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Miami
Phoenix
Denver

Indeed the equipment is in the stores today. Handsets are $49. If anyone spots any of the online stores with better deals on this make sure and post back.

Thanks

Just got an email from T-mobile.

•Stop burning wireless minutes in
your home

•Get T-Mobile HotSpot @Home, the
first mobile phone that also works
on Wi-Fi in your house

•Enjoy unlimited nationwide calling
from home for only $9.99
per month*

So now we see the true face of Wifi-enabled cell phones. While companies were restricted by the FCC from blocking VOIP access, the companies are just going to try to make you want to pay for something that ought to be free. I'm so thrilled...

I guess it's available everywhere...just got an email saying it was available in my area, yay! I'm just not in a major metropolitan area and was hoping it wouldn't take long to get here. I still have to wait till March for a new contract, but hopefully they'll have out a wi-fi bb by then and any possible bugs worked out.

As far as paying the $9.99 per month for the Hotspot at Home, I don't have a problem with that. I already pay for VOIP for the "house phone", so getting rid of that and just having the Hotspot at Home would actually save money. Not to mention the fact that all your calls at home wouldn't take away plan minutes. Plus the convenience of only having to keep track of one phone is fine with me too

The coolest thing that I have found with it is that even if you don't need the extra minute usage you can still use the service just to get full service at your house or wherever you can register on a wifi network. The extra feature is NOT mandatory.
