T-Mobile Users With BB As Modem On Laptop

Ok apparently I even have TMobile stumped on this...I am getting an error when I go to connect...
Error 628: The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed

8700 has been sucessfully linked as a modem. WOO HOO!
If anyone on Tmobile tries this, it is not done like previous versions. In fact, will be making a post soon on how to sync 8700 as a modem on Tmobile.

N8DBB, how did you get around that 628 error?

My connection was working fine until a couple of days ago.

I have a BB pearl .67 version.

I've been using it for years....it's much quicker on the 8800 over the 7290.

I would like to note 90% of my problems with tethering the BB come from the intialization string. You cannot copy and paste it because Windows and Office like to use "smart quotes" which will throw the error mentioned above. Always type the string or copy it from a text editor notepad.

My 7105t works fine as a modem (e.g. right now)... once in a while, after hours of use, it fails ("Device: Connected, IPv4: Not Connected, IPv6: Not Connected"), but disconnecting/reconnecting resolves it.

Rarely, connecting doesn't go through until I reboot the Berry (battery pull).

TMo tells me it is free, i.e. part of the data plan.

I used it on 7105T, Pearl. I have did all with 7290 when I lost Pearl. Absolutely no problems other than the Speed. I recently tried it in Amtrack while travelling from Philli to Hartford (CT) and almost 60% connectivity assured uninterrupted. Mostly while at Brdigeport, Penn Station location, New Haven, Meriden locations the connectivity was poor hence no signal. Let me know if you have any Questions...
