T-mobile Thread

I bought my 8700g from a T-Mobil kiosk in a mall in New Jersey. I asked the guy who sold this to me if he can unlock it and he said that he could. He was suppose to call me and let me know when it is unlocked. Is this possible? Can he do that for me? I've had the phone almost a week now and he hasn't called me yet. I dont know a way how to check if it's been unlocked or not. Anyone here has gotten their 8700g unlocked by T-Mobile?
 
Yes, the rep could unlock your 8700g but he could have done it right then it would have taken all of 5 minutes to unlock your phone. I had my 7290 unlocked by Tmobile here is a thread with the information you are looking for read through the entire thread it also gives you the prerequisites required to have TMO unlock your phone.

I have another T-Mobile question. I'm interested in upgrading my phone and I wanted to know if I do it online, would I have to pay right away? Because I know when you do it over the phone, you have to pay right away.
 
It depends on the type of account you have with TMO, when they open your account it is based on your credit rating. According to your credit rating you have more or less options on your account, higher credit rating will enable purchase of equipment charged to the account lower credit ratings will not. That's how it works whether online or on the phone.
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~I don't know about upgradeing on line, but I've up graded many times on the phone. Just did It Thursday for my niece who is on my account. And I've never had to pay right away. Not one time have I had to pay. They have everytime just added it to my next bill.
Now with that said I need to say, I've been with them for a good while, 4 lines, never ever been late with a bill and I've never ever gone over in my plan. So that may be why they extend me credit.
 
I would like to know if you can use the 8700g and the T-Mobile MDA on the same plan and still have access to the internet on both devices when switching sim cards?
