T-Mobile outage?

Thanks to this thread the matter is now solved

If indeed there were a T-Mobile outage [which means lack of service by T-Mo] in the beginning, the scarcity of similar experiences by people in a metropolitan area as big as LA means it must have been over soon.

Conclusion: the fault lay not in my stars but in my Blackberry.
I pulled the battery, polished and reseated the SIM card, and that was it. Fixed!

In effect though, you, the participants in the thread, fixed my BlackBerry.
Thank you!

There's no tmobile service up here in Fayetteville nc but its not an outage there just isn't any coverage at all. Good thing I'm on that national roaming plan so I can hop onto cingulars network without extra charge

You mean... a real outage?! Whew!... at least I made it in time to fix mine

You can call T-Mobile and check it out... grit your teeth and bear the front-line Automated Response system [WHO wrote that??? ], go through the holds, and eventually get to talk to the Blackberry/PDA division.

Believe me -- it is faster to conjure up a rabroad thread like this one

It is affecting Beavis and Butthead, I see

Indeed, more annoying than a low average value is a high standard deviation . We can put up with low speeds, as long as they are consistent rather than here now, gone tomorrow.

Actually, T-Mo has agreements with Cingular, e.g. ... half the time when I connect, it is through Cingular's network.

Count your blessings... there are parts of the country where You Cannot Connect at all, period! As I found out, Yosemite National Park is one of them . Another is a major piece of Mendocino County [ Pynchon's VINELAND... must be jinxed ]

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ well I was told by a TMbbS that they r updating their network/service/system to stop the frequent/widespread outages! They r trying to be more efficient... Could be smoke/mirrors but let's see shall we?!

I have had no troubles with T-Mo lately. Even when others are reporting issues I was email, messaging, and surfing away.

As for where I get signal - I live in Florida, but I have been to the middle of no where Iowa where the Wal-Mart is very very far away and a trip to the mall is almost an overnight adventure. I was sitting in the middle of no where in a bean field in a combine, nothing but crops for a long ways, and I still got full EDGE. I was surfing the web while riding along for harvest. For me, that can't be beat.

That's so funny because I've been in the middle of Queens, Staten Island, Long Island and even blocks in Brooklyn and gotten no data service in areas there should be no problem.

Lucky Iowans.

see - you should just leave New York. Big cities are bad.....

Honestly I think its harder in big cities as the buildings get in the way, similar to the mountains in Virginia.

I have never lost voice or data in Tampa Bay or another place I have been in Florida. I did lose service last summer playing golf at Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY. must be a up north thing.
