T-Mobile My Touch 3-G problem?

So, I recently bought a My Touch for T-mobile, but Im having some difficulty importing my contacts from my sim card. I click on import contacts from Sim, but a message comes up saying there is no sim contacts when in fact I know there are. I've been using this sim card for 5 phones now and I've never had a problem with this until now. Any suggestions of what to do?
