T-Mobile Encryption

What type of encryption does T-Mobile use. I have gotten many Tmobile pearls and they cant work on the Digicel network in JA. It gets gprs and we can set it up for BIS or BES but all calls fail.

I know its the encryption so I am trying to remember which they use to do some more research.

Can anybody assist?

Make sure in the phone options that "restrict my identity" is set to No.

This would cause all the calls to fail hayden?

When a call is made it displays call failed and Beeps a few times.

I will check that option and let u know.

Sounds like a problem with the handshake. Time to take a look at the site and switch.

After some more research - Once the Pearl is not getting data service it can make calls. Meaning once it says GSM and not GPRS or EDGE.

What I think happens is that the Tmobile devices point back to their settings then it kills the voice service once DATA has been enabled on the device.

Am I way off in my reasoning?
